NEWS! NEWS! NEWS!

Did you miss the ECMS "Back To School Night"festivities?  Well if you were so unfortunate to do so, you missed a treat!!  Aside from the general informative speeches from our new principal, Ms. C. Ellerbe and her administrators (giving you the low-down on what's expected from students and staff at ECMS), a few members of the "Fabulous 60's Motown Review" troupe performed part of their show for parents and students attending, and it was as exciting as Day One!  Parents, students and staff members were treated to the impersonations of "Ike and Tina Turner" (7th Graders - Daquan Johnson and Ericiline Williams) and "Frankie Avalon" (Ernest Alford), and they did a spectular job as usual and were quite entertaining.  Parents, students and especially the staff, including a delighted Ms. C. Ellerbe (new school Principal) made certain the the cast and crew was well received and appreciated.  Congratulations once again go out to the cast and the shows producers, Ms. C. Smith and Ms. D. Washington-Chase for their wonderful contribution to the program and we look forward to many more of their productions  - Job well done!  Keep up the good work!  When is the next show??

ECMS's School Based Youth Services group is holding a "Mother & Daughter Retreat" from 9/26-9/28.  Three mother/daughter pairs were chosen to take part in this special event in which they will get to spend quality time together, take part in enrichment workshops, and receive a weekend of pampering.  The pairs were chosen based on who was determined to be most beneficial of this treat.   Thank you Youth Service Center for extending this wonderful gift to students and their parents.  BRAVO!

ECMS Girl Scouts first meeting will be held on October 1st @ 3:05 - 4:30 .pm.  Hope you took the time to join - They have a very exciting year lined up....Don't miss out!!!    Also, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Monthv- Join the "Walk for the Cure" at Cooper River Park on October 26, 2008.  Registration and opening ceremony is at 9:00 am - Walk kicks off at 10:00 am - Our team name is "Friendss 4 life".  The sign-up list and registration forms are in the main office at the front desk.  T-shirts will be ordered, so contact Ms. Wise in School based Youths Services for more information.  Come out and shot your support for the fight against breast Cancer!
