"School
Affirmation"

As a
student of East Camden Middle School, I will be a catalyst for change.
Inside of me lies the unlimited potential and power to do all things.
I will take responsibility for my choices and my actions. I will
respect and encourage others, and affirm myself as being a winner by daring
to be different.

Vision Statement

Because East Camden
Middle School believes that children are entitled to live and thrive in
communities that invest in their total physical, mental and emotional
wellness, our VISION is to offer opportunities for students to become
well-rounded, productive individuals able to compete in our global society.
This will be accomplished through a combination of opportunities and a
committed staff dedicated to the advocacy and nurturing of all students.

"BACK
TO SCHOOL NIGHT"

East Camden Middle School welcomed parents to "Back to School Night" with
dynamism and enthusiasm. New Principal, Ms. Merry C. Ellerbe spoke on
important matters of concern, and asked parents to work as a team with their
children's teachers and administrators and encouraged parents to get
involved in their childs education. She expressed that parent
involvement was a definite way to yield great academic results, and this
along with teaching students the importance of listening and following
instruction will enable them to benefit from the instruction offered to
them. She expressed her desire to start a school PTA to give parents a
voice within the educational process, and to help generate fun-filled
fund-raising activities which will benefit the students of ECMS. She
relayed accolades to her staff and thanked them for their wonderful support
and efforts, and stressed that their ongoing, positive involvement is needed
in the successful education of the students of ECMS. Her
administrative team, Mr. R. Atwell, Ms. H. Edwards-Perry and Ms. T. Brown,
gave briefings on very important, school information, which included topics
such as the school uniform policy, the detention policy and the homework
policy, amongst others. The affair was well attended, and parents were
invited to tour the school and meet with their child(s) teachers and
administrators. They were also given the opportunity to take advantage
of the many educational vendors set-up in the lobby of the school offering
various tutoring programs, etc. It was a delightful, well organized
event, and parents went away appreciating the efforts of the staff and
administrators at ECMS on behalf of their children.
