William Cooper, the "Father" of Camden, obtained 300 acres
in 1680, and named the house he built there "PYNE POYNT", after a dense pine forest
that grew on the property. The school was built on that property. While little
known by Philadelphians, "PYNE POYNT" is also memorable as the landing place of
Benjamin Franklin before he entered Philadelphia.
"PYNE POYNT" Middle School strives to meet the needs
of its student body by utilizing stimulating programs. Students constantly receive
scholastic and support services. Our school aligned its curriculum to meet test
taking skills and strategies. We continue to set high standards for our students.
