Vision: Knowledge-Based, Research Driven Facility Design for the Children

New schools completed:
Octavius V. Catto Demonstration School; 3200 Westfield Avenue, Camden 08105.
This new school was opened in 2007. Designed as a demonstration school, the school is an anchor point for further community redevelopment in East Camden. It was designed as a PreK to sixth grade facility with media center, gymnasium, auditorium and cafeteria. The school was constructed with an attached Boys and Girls Club, which shares the large public spaces with the school. The Boys and Girls Club includes an indoor, competition sized swimming pool which is accessible to the school district during the day.

Early Childhood Development Center; 1602 Pine Street, Camden 08102.
This new school for ages 3-4 and PreK and kindergarten is a District-wide facility opened in January, 2008. Its exciting design includes classrooms, multipurpose gymnasium, cafeteria, art room, media center, age-appropriate outdoor play equipment and courtyard.

Thomas H. Dudley Elementary School; 2250 Berwick Street, Camden 08105.
The Thomas H. Dudley Elementary School opened in September 2009 as PreK-6. The school replaces the former Dudley school with 21st Century classrooms, auditorium, cafeteria, gymnasium and media center. Classrooms are technology rich. School grounds include separate entrances for kindergarten drop-off, separate age-appropriate play equipment and a full play field.

Henry B. Wilson Elementary School; 2250 South 8th Street, Camden 08104.
The H.B. Wilson Elementary School opened in September 2009 on a site adjacent to the former school with features similar to Dudley. The next phase of construction will include the demolition of the old building and construction of playfield and a separate enclosed play area for PreK/K. There is a separate parent drop-off and bus lane.

Creative Arts/Morgan Village Academy; 900 Morgan Boulevard, Camden 08104.
The Creative Arts/Morgan Village Academy opened in September 2011 on a site next to the former Morgan Village Middle School.  The school is wired for internet access throughout and includes a media center, a full size gymnasium, cafeteria, and a theatre with the capacity to seat 350.  Adjacent to the school will be a bus loop, a parking lot and a recreation field.  These areas will be defined after the demolition of the old Morgan Village Middle School.
