ProgramsTHE ENTREPRENEUR CLUB PROGRAM
This program is for students ages 14 to 18. During the academic school year students will be asked to participate in a ten week job readiness training program. Meeting once a week, this program will prepare the students for a diverse and technological workplace. It will focus on skills needed to obtain and maintain employment. Attitude, Motivation, Communication, Values, Interviewing, Completing Application, Identifying Realistic Job Opening, Building Self-Esteem, Resume Writing, Diversity in the Workplace, Starting Your Own Business, Marketing Advertising, and A Business Plan, are the topics covered in the program. The students will develop entrepreneur skills and start their own business. Staff will monitor students’ progress and provide follow-up services, which will include assistance in job placement, and job site visits. Upon completion of the program students will be eligible to receive a certificate and will be assisted in getting employment and starting their own business. They will sell their products within the school and in our local community.

PARTNERS IN PARENTING (PIP)
This program provides comprehensive support services to pregnant and parenting teens in school and their families (including the teen parents, their infants and/or toddlers, and the teen’s parents/guardians). It is a secondary, pregnancy prevention initiative which puts an emphasis on educational progress, reproductive health, positive parenting, and life skills development. PIP after-school programming includes: weekly parenting groups addressing asset building as it relates to positive parenting, infant, toddler development and the teen parent/child relationship. Other components of PIP are weekly life skills sessions focusing on: building assets surrounding personal growth and development; individual counseling; bimonthly Parent/Guardian events; and, a Co-Parenting Initiative for our adolescent families who reside together or independently.

OMEGA PSI RITES OF PASSAGE FRATERNITY (MALE)
The Omega PSI Rites of Passage Program addresses the importance of socialization, group activity and relationship building to teach the concept of male bonding based on the fraternity model. This model will give young men the opportunity to interact with professional men, participate in cultural activities, make improved decisions and increase the ability to graduate from high school.

GAMMA PSI FEMALE RITES OF PASSAGE SORORITY
The purpose of this program is to provide adolescent females with an all-inclusive cultural activity, which promotes academic excellence, social and emotional development and exposure to professional women, increased personal responsibilities that enable students to graduate.

YOUTH TO YOUTH MENTORING PROGRAM
This program is designed to aid incoming freshmen in making a healthy transition to high school. Students are monitored for social development and academic progress until graduation from high school. A unique aspect of this program is its ability to pair incoming freshmen with staff members and upperclassmen who serves as members. The program conducts workshops weekly that cover such topics as conflict resolution, anger management, character development, sexual harassment, pregnancy and STD prevention, depression, stress management, career development and academic achievement.
KARATE PROGRAM

LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
This after school program is designed to provide students with the necessary life skills that would empower them to be great leaders of tomorrow.

PROJECT AWARENESS
An eight-week program that targets 7th grade students and focuses on healthy relationship building and sexual responsibility. The topics discussed throughout this program are: Sexual Harassment & Assault, Date Rape/Drugs, Domestic Violence, STD’s and Teen Pregnancy.

MAN TO MAN PROGRAM
A gender specific after-school program that enlightens young male students about their own promising capabilities, the program consists of the following activities: career exploration, social skills, anger management, community service, peer to peer mediation, arts and crafts, and field trips.

GIRL SCOUTS
A gender specific after school program for young female students utilizing the traditional Girl Scout moral while incorporating the following activities: career exploration, social social skills, anger management, community service, peer to peer mediation, arts and crafts, and field trips.

SERVICES
NURSE PRACTITIONER
An on-site primary health care professional who provides students with confidential medical services and health counseling.
CRISIS COUNSELOR
The crisis counselor assesses social, emotional needs, of students and their families. This counselor is available for crisis intervention and assists and arranges for emergency social services.
NUTRITIONIST
A Certified health professional available to students providing nutritional education and health promotion thought nutritional management programs that enhance students’ self-esteem as they develop a healthier life-style.
FAMILY LIFE SPECIALIST
This is an on-site sexual education counselor who provides pregnancy testing and family life education.
COMMUNITY RESOURCE SPECIALIST (CRS)
The CRS represents the Link between the family, school, and the local community. This specialist has access to a diversity of resources such as i.e., the business community, churches, charitable organizations, social services agencies, police, criminal justice systems representatives, affordable housing, neighborhood organizations, and to the many informal networks existing in the local community. The CRS introduces students and families to the resources available to them and indirectly function as a catalyst for the community to support their young people.
FAMILY COUNSELOR (FC)
This counselor coordinates all aspects of the family intervention process for the adolescent and her/his family. The FC carries the clinical responsibility for the overall management of all cases. The FC represents the intervention and treatment services available to students at risk for violence, substance abuse or school drop-out.
