Facts About the Board
Camden Board of Education members are the policy makers for the school district. They meet each month to vote on activities and services presented by the superintendent of schools. Board members enforce the policies and procedures of the school district.
The board consists of nine members who serve three-year terms. Board members are appointed by the Mayor of Camden. One student representative and one student alternate represent each of the district's five high school on the board.
The Work Sessions are held every third Tuesday of the month at the district's Administration Building, 201 N. Front Street, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Camden Board of Education holds it Regular Monthly Meeting on the fourth Tuesday of each month beginning at 7:00 p.m. This meeting is held at the CCS-TV Channel 19, 1600 Pine Street, and is broadcast live. The regular monthly meeting can be viewed on COMCAST cable's Channel 19 and Verizon FIOS Channel 30 throughout the month.
Official action may be taken at any board meeting. Additionally, the board may adjourn into a closed session at any time to discuss personnel matters. During the Regular Monthly Meeting there is a public portion, which allows community members, parents and students to ask questions of the board. |
